Pendomer
House offers the rare opportunity to stay in a lovely, historic English
country home set in a faultless rural position. Guests have their own
wing, including private sitting room, in a magnificent former old
rectory that has commanding views across countryside described as the
most beautiful in South West England.

The
house is set on high on a hill in a Special Landscape Area where the
rolling countryside and rural character is strictly preserved. Below,
the hamlet and Norman church of Pendomer are tucked away down a rarely
used no-through road. About a mile away is the larger village of East
Coker made famous by the poet TS Elliot, who is buried here, and by the
houses and cottages used in the Jane Austen films.
Although
peaceful and secluded, Pendomer House is not isolated but easily
accessible to the local towns of Yeovil, Dorchester, Sherborne and
Crewkerne as well as a range of excellent country pubs, restaurants,
National Trust houses, and other tourist attractions.
Some stabling is available,
although it is normally fully booked during the Aldon Horse
Trials in Yeovil .
